How to Delete a Zone in UltraDNS

This article explains how to delete a zone in UltraDNS and how to create a backup before deletion.

Before Deleting a Zone

It is recommended that you create a backup by exporting the zone file before deleting the zone.

How to Export the Zone File

1. Log in to UltraDNS.
2. Click Domains.
3. Check the checkbox to the left of the domain(s) you wish to export.
4. Press Export.
5. Press Export again.
6. Press Close.
7. View the Tasks to download the export.
   • The Tasks icon is the three horizontal bars under your name near the top right of the interface.

How to Delete a Zone

1. Click Domains.
2. Check the checkbox to the left of the domain(s) you wish to delete.
3. Press - Delete Selected.
4. A Change Comment box will appear confirming the deletion and allowing you to type a reason for deletion.
   • This field is optional. You may leave it blank or enter a comment.
5. Press Delete.

Verification

After deletion, confirm that the zone no longer appears in the Domains list.

If you exported the zone beforehand, confirm that the export file downloaded successfully from the Tasks section.
