Sometimes when adding new domains, whether it be a Primary or Secondary zone, this error will show:
This means the zone you're trying to add is already on the UltraDNS platform.
"But, how can this be? I bought this domain and it's mine. How can this domain already be on UltraDNS?"
There's a couple reasons but not limited to:
- The domain once belonged to someone else who uses, or used UltraDNS
- Our customers and clients also include registrars, web hosting companies and domain resellers who host their DNS with us
Additional Info
- We do not share the account details where the zone(s) are in for security reasons
- We verify zone ownership via the WHOIS data
- whois.com
- If you're the Registrant, the domain will be transferred to your account
- If the NS for the zone show the NS assigned to your UltraDNS account, the domain will be transferred to your account
- whois.com
