If UltraDNS is configured as your primary DNS provider and you are using a secondary DNS provider, your secondary provider must be configured to receive zone transfers and DNS NOTIFY messages from specific UltraDNS outbound IP addresses.
This ensures that zone data is transferred correctly and updates are delivered reliably.
Outbound Zone Transfer IP Addresses
Your secondary DNS provider should be configured to allow zone transfers and receive DNS NOTIFY messages from the following UltraDNS outbound IP addresses:
- 54.197.245.255
- 54.245.236.74
How These IP Addresses Are Used
These IP addresses are used by UltraDNS to initiate outbound zone transfers and send DNS NOTIFY messages to secondary DNS providers.
Your secondary provider must treat these addresses as trusted primary sources for AXFR or IXFR requests.
Important Notes
- Ensure the IP addresses are allowlisted on the secondary DNS provider.
- Zone transfers will fail if these IP addresses are blocked or not permitted.
- Configuration steps vary by secondary DNS provider.
