This article explains how to change the primary account user, also referred to as the account owner, in UltraDNS.
The primary user has full administrative control over the account, including user management and account-level settings.
When to Use This Article
- You need to transfer account ownership to another user.
- The current primary user is leaving the organization.
- You need to update the designated account owner for administrative purposes.
What the Primary Account User Controls
The primary account user has full administrative access to the UltraDNS account.
This includes managing domains, creating and editing users, assigning permissions, and modifying account-level configuration settings.
Changing the primary user transfers ownership and administrative responsibility to another eligible user within the same account.
How to Change the Primary Account User
- Log in to the UltraDNS portal with the current primary account user credentials.
- Click Accounts in the left side bar then click the hyperlink account name.
- From the Account Info tab, scroll down to the Primary User section.
- Click the Change Primary User button
- From the dropdown, select the user who will become the new primary account user.
- Click Save.
Verification
After completing the change, confirm that the new user is listed as the primary account user in the account settings.
The new primary user should have full administrative access and ownership privileges.
Important Notes
- Only the current primary account user can transfer ownership.
- The new primary user must already exist as a user in the account.
- Ensure the new primary user has appropriate contact information associated with the account.
