This article explains how to configure an existing permissions group so it can access only specific domains, instead of inheriting permissions across all domains in the account.
When to Use This Article
- You need a user group to access only a limited set of domains.
- You need to remove inherited domain permissions and assign permissions per domain.
Steps
- Login to UltraDNS.
- Click Accounts.
- Click Account Name.
- Click Groups.
- Select a group from the list and click View Permissions.
- Leave Account set to Read.
- Uncheck Inherit next to Domain Services and drag slider left to NONE.
- Make sure lower entries have Inherit selected then press Save.
- Click Domains.
- Click the [Key] under Permissions.
- Drag custom group slider to the right for the desired permission level for that specific domain then press Save.
Verification
- Confirm the group does not inherit Domain Services permissions at the account level.
- Confirm the group has the intended permissions only on the selected domain where the custom group slider was set.
