This article explains how to view, filter, and export audit log data from the UltraDNS portal.
When to Use This Article
- You need to review account, domain, record, pool, or user activity.
- You need to identify who made a change and when the change occurred.
- You need to export audit log data for reporting, troubleshooting, or change tracking.
- You need to search audit history using filters.
Audit Log Retention
- Audit log data is retained for approximately 6 months.
- The Audit page displays available activity within the retention period.
- Data older than the available retention period is not displayed in the portal.
View Audit Logs
- Log in to UltraDNS.
- Click
Auditfrom the navigation menu. - Review the audit entries displayed in the Audit Log.
- Click the arrow next to an entry to view additional details, which may include:
- Account
- Client IP
- Change From
- Change To
- Hostname
- Points To
- TTL
Filter Audit Results
Use the Audit Filters section to narrow the results displayed in the Audit Log.
You can filter by:
- Date range
- Object name
- Parent object
- User
- Object type
- Change type
- Account
- Change comment
After selecting your filter criteria, click Apply Filters.
To remove all filter criteria, click Clear Filter.
Export Audit Logs
- Open the
Auditpage. - Apply any desired filters.
- Click
Export. - Download the generated CSV file.
The export contains the audit entries currently displayed based on your selected filters and page view settings.
Audit Log Fields

Change Time- Date and time the change occurred. -
Changed Object- The object that was modified. -
Parent Object- The parent object associated with the change. -
Object Type- The type of object that was changed. -
Change Type- The action performed, such as Add, Modify, Delete, or Login. -
User- The user associated with the activity.
Expected Outcome
- You can review account activity within the available audit retention period.
- You can identify when changes occurred and which user performed the action.
- You can export audit data to a CSV file for additional analysis or record keeping.
