How to Configure Primary and Failover Records in a SiteBacker Pool

This article explains how to configure primary and failover records in a SiteBacker pool by adjusting record priority.

How to Configure Primary and Failover Records

1. Log in to UltraDNS.
2. Click Domains.
3. Select the domain.
4. Under Load Balancing, select the SiteBacker pool.
5. Set the primary record:
   1. Click Edit for the pool record under Pool Records.
   2. Set Priority to 1.
   3. Click Save.
6. Set the failover or secondary record:
   1. Click Edit for the pool record under Pool Records.
   2. Set Priority to 2.
   3. Click Save.

Important Notes

• Lower priority values are treated as higher priority in SiteBacker pools.
• A record with priority 1 will act as the primary.
• Records with higher priority values act as failover or secondary.
