Bulk Export all UltraDNS Domains in Account

Overview

This article explains how to bulk export UltraDNS domain zone files from the UltraDNS Managed Services Portal. The portal export workflow creates zone file exports for selected domains. 

It does not create an export filtered to a specific DNS record type, such as MX, A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, SRV, or Directional pool data.

If you need an export of all records, all zones, or one specific DNS record type across multiple domains or across the full account, contact UltraDNS Support so the export can be generated for you.

When to Use This Article

• You need to export zone files for one or more domains.
• You need to bulk export zone files for multiple domains in the portal.
• You need to understand the portal limit for bulk zone file exports.

Before You Begin

• The portal exports selected domain zone files.
• The portal can export up to 250 domains at one time.
• If the account has more than 250 domains, repeat the export process in batches or contact UltraDNS Support for assistance.
• If you need an export for the full account and the account contains a large number of domains, contact UltraDNS Support.
• The portal export workflow does not export only one DNS record type across the account.

Steps

1. Log in to the UltraDNS Managed Services Portal.
2. Click Domains.
3. Select the checkbox next to each domain you want to export.
4. Confirm that all domains you want to export are selected.
   • The portal can export up to 250 domains at one time.
   • If you need to export more than 250 domains, export the domains in multiple batches or contact UltraDNS Support.
5. Click Export.
6. Review the details in the confirmation window.
7. Click Export.
8. Click the Tasks icon.
9. Download the completed Zone Export file when it is available.

Expected Outcome

The selected domain zone files are exported and the completed export can be downloaded from the Tasks list.

Depending on the number of selected domains, the export can take several minutes to complete.

What This Export Does Not Include

This workflow does not create a custom export for specific DNS record types or account-wide record reports.

Contact UltraDNS Support for requests such as:

• All records across the account
• All zones across the account when the portal export is not practical
• All MX records across the account
• All A or AAAA records across the account
• All CNAME records across the account
• All TXT records across the account
• All SRV records across the account
• Directional pool data across the account

Important Notes

• Use this article only for exporting zone files from the portal.
• Do not use this workflow as the answer for specific DNS record type export requests.
• If a request is for a specific DNS record type and only specific domains, include the domain list when contacting UltraDNS Support.
• If no domain list is provided for a support-generated export, Support generates the export for the full account.
