Overview
This article explains how to request an export of specific DNS record types from UltraDNS.
The UltraDNS Managed Services Portal does not provide a self-service export that returns only one DNS record type across multiple domains or across the full account.
If you need a specific DNS record type exported, contact UltraDNS Support so the export can be generated for you.
When to Use This Article
Use this article when you need an export of specific DNS records, rather than a portal-generated zone file export.

AorAAAArecords across the account. - You need all
CNAMErecords across the account. - You need all
TXTrecords across the account. - You need all
SRV,NS, orCAArecords across the account. - You need Directional pool data across the account.
- You need one DNS record type exported for only specific domains.
What Customers Can Export in the Portal
Customers can use the portal to export selected domain zone files. That workflow is separate from a custom DNS record type export.
A zone file export includes the selected domain's zone data. It does not create a custom report filtered to only one DNS record type across multiple domains or across the full account.
What Requires Support
Contact UltraDNS Support for export requests that cannot be generated from the portal.
Support is required for requests such as:
- All records across the account
- All zones across the account when the portal export is not practical
- All records of one DNS record type across the account
- All records of one DNS record type across a specific list of domains
- Directional pool data across multiple domains or across the account
Information to Include in the Request
Include the following information when opening the Support request:
- The UltraDNS account name or account ID.
- The DNS record type or data type being requested.
- Whether the export should include the full account or only specific domains.
- The domain list, if the export should only include specific domains.
- The requested file format, if a specific format is required.
If the request is for only specific domains, Support needs the domain list. If no domain list is provided, the export is generated for the full account.
Examples
- If you need all
MXrecords across the account, open a Support request and specifyMXrecords. - If you need all
TXTrecords for five domains, open a Support request and include the five domain names. - If you need all records or all zones for a large account, open a Support request and specify that the export should include the full account.
- If you need zone files for up to
250domains, use the portal bulk export workflow.
Expected Outcome
UltraDNS Support generates the requested export as a .CSV file when the requested data is available for export.
The export includes the requested record type or data scope for the provided domain list, or for the full account when no domain list is provided.
Important Notes
- The portal bulk export workflow is for zone file exports only.
- Customers cannot create account-wide specific record type exports from the portal.
- If the request is limited to specific domains, include the domain list in the Support request.
- If no domain list is provided, the export is generated for the full account.
