UltraDNS Adds Toronto to Global Authoritative DNS Node Network
We’ve just deployed a new UltraDNS authoritative node in Toronto, and it’s already live and handling production traffic.
This launch is part of our broader effort to grow the UltraDNS network and deliver better performance and resiliency in key regions. With Toronto now online, we’re seeing improved routing and lower latency for DNS queries originating in Eastern Canada and the U.S. Northeast.
What this means
The Toronto node is integrated into our anycast architecture, so there’s no action required on your end. Traffic is automatically routed based on network conditions, so your domains will start benefiting from the improved proximity and redundancy without needing any configuration changes.
Some of the key benefits we’re seeing from this deployment:
- Better performance: Lower latency for end users across the region.
- Increased resilience: More routing paths and failover options in North America.
- More capacity: Built to scale with growing query volumes from high-demand customers.
This node runs the same standard stack as the rest of our network: IPv4/IPv6 support, DNSSEC signing, traffic management features, and full monitoring and observability tooling.
Looking ahead
This expansion is part of our ongoing infrastructure investment strategy, focused on delivering faster query resolution and greater redundancy. The Toronto node strengthens our footprint and supports customers with growing traffic demands in the region.
If you want to dig deeper into how we measure performance, where we’re expanding next, or how this fits into your own DNS architecture—reach out. Always happy to talk shop.
