UltraDNS Web Forwarding supports wildcard (*) configurations.
Wildcard web forwarding allows a single forwarding rule to apply to multiple hostnames or subdomains without creating individual forwarding records for each hostname.
When to Use Wildcard Web Forwarding
- Forward all subdomains to a single destination.
- Redirect unknown or dynamically created hostnames.
- Reduce the number of individual web forwarding records that must be maintained.
How Wildcard Web Forwarding Works
A wildcard character (*) can be used when configuring Web Forwarding records.
Requests that match the wildcard pattern will be redirected according to the forwarding rule that has been configured.
